David ist ein männlicher Vorname (aus dem hebräischen: der Geliebte). So hieß ein König im Alten Testament David. Auch der Schutzpatron von Wales (Sankt David), eine Statue von Michelangelo
sowie der letzte Kaiser von Trapezunt (David Komnenos, 1459-1461) hörten auf diesen Namen. Zudem gibt es in Panama die Stadt "David".
