Camping

1) Camping (v. lat. campus = Feld) oder Zelten bezeichnet eine Form des Tourismus. Die Urlauber übernachten in diesem Fall in Zelten, Caravans (Wohnwagen) oder Wohnmobilen. In den meisten Ländern Europas ist campieren in der Wildnis nicht erlaubt, anstelle dessen existieren meist in landschaftlich reizvollen Lagen Campingplätze, in denen vielfältige Angebote zur Freizeitgestaltung bestehen und in denen man preisgünstig übernachten kann.
2) Bezeichnung für das Verhalten eines Spielers bei Multiplayer-Shootern, der sich eine längere Zeit an einem bestimmten Punkt aufhält. Häufig findet man Camper an "Respawn"-Punkten, also Punkte, an denen bestimmte Gegenstände - etwa Waffen oder Munition -, oder auch Gegner nach ihrem Ableben wieder auftauchen. Besonders letztere Camper sind nicht sehr beliebt. Weitere Camper findet man an Sniper-Positionen (Scharfschützen).
